چکیده

Thin silicon filaments were grown from the melt by three different methods: (a) RF-heated float-zone pedestal growth of high-purity, dislocation-free, single-crystal filaments, (b) growth of <112> axis, (111) face, dendrite filaments at high pulling rates from a supercooled melt in a quartz crucible, and (c) capillary die growth of thin-walled, small-diameter Si tube-filaments with high ratio of surface area to volume and concomitant device structure advantages. Minority-carrier lifetime τ was used to assess the filaments. For the three growth methods listed above, values as high as 660 μsec, 53 μsec, and 42 μsec were observed, respectively. Thin silicon filaments with good crystallographic perfection, grown at high speeds, may be useful as active semiconductor elements in multiple linear-concentrator-array PV systems and in other optoelectronic applications.

Investigation of HF/H2O2 Concentration Effect on Structural and Antireflection Properties of Porous Silicon Prepared by Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching Process for Photovoltaic Applications

Porous silicon was successfully prepared using metal-assisted chemical etching method. The Effect of HF/H2O2 concentration in etching solution as an affecting parameter on the prepared porosity type and size was investigated. Field emission electron microscopy (FE-SEM) confirmed that all etched samples had porous structure and the sample which was immersed into HF/H2O2 withmolar ratio of 7/3.53...

Simple Photovoltaic Device Based on Multiwall Carbon Nanotube/Silicon Heterojunction

Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are grown via chemical vapour deposition method directly on a stainless steel substrate. Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy are the techniques chosen to characterize the structure of the synthesized carbon nanotubes: few structural defects are detected. After their removal from the stainless steel substrate, the as-grown MWCNTs are then a...

Study the Effect of Silicon Nanowire Length on Characteristics of Silicon Nanowire Based Solar Cells by Using Impedance Spectroscopy

Silicon nanowire (SiNW) arrays were produced by electroless method on polycrystalline Si substrate, in HF/ AgNO3 solution. Although the monocrystalline silicon wafer is commonly utilized as a perfect substrate, polycrystalline silicon as a low cost substrate was used in this work for photovoltaic applications. In order to study the influence of etching time (which affects the SiNWs length) on d...
